Medical Marijuana law and policies are changing so fast these days. One day a city allows collectives/dispensaries, the next day they are raided and gone. Good people are getting taken to court, patients are getting healed and politicians are floundering. HERE IS A WEEKLY ROUND UP OF WHAT IS HAPPENING AOUND THE COUNTY WITH MEDICAL MARIJUANA… READ ON
California
-Senator Diane Feinstein and LA Sheriff Baca are teaming up to push back against Prop 19 to make sure it does not pass. My gut is Senator Feinstein has NO CLUE on why she is against Prop 19 but is pandering to her constituents to get re-elected. Contact her and give her the facts.
-LA City Attorneys office filed a complaint to shut down 135 pre-moratorium collectives stating they are in violation of the new city ordinance.
- California medical marijuana clinic is being investigated by the State medical board for seeing patients via “skype”. State clear violation of the standard of care when recommending any medication to a new patient.
- First federal medical marijuana commercial is going to air in California. Watch how the dug companies fight this one!!!
- The anaheim case (banning dispensaries) after three years was kicked back to a lower court to determine if a city can PROHIBIT/BAN something that is legal in the State. Stay tuned and buckle in. This is going to be a long one.
- “Know Your Rights” Expo received a solid turnout at the Anaheim convention center. Although they expected 20,000 they ended up having 1000 patients. Speaker spoke “for” and “against” prop 19. Per event organizers, at the end of the day more people ended up being against its passing because of how poorly it was written.
- Long Beach finally implemented its new ordinance. Many collectives have had to shut down and the ones open are being charged RIDICULOUS application fees to operate. THOSE COSTS WILL BE PASSED ONTO THE PATIENTS!
