Often I speak with patients about the benefits and risks of using cannabis rarely do patients mention their sex lives.  Most commonly I hear patients speak about wanting to stop taking their pain pills, anti-depressants or sleep aids.    One of the things that patients don’t like to speak about is their sex lives.  What I find is that once I mention the fact that one of the benefits of using cannabis is that patients sex lives improve a pandoras box opens.

I am amazed how infrequent many couples have sex.    ”Once a week.”  ”A couple times per month.”  ”We haven’t had sex in 6 months.”  or  ”Our sex life has been great lately but I wish it were a little more exciting.”

Cannabis can have a wide range of effects on a patients libido.  Many patients state that they feel less inhibited.  Some state that their orgasms are much more intense.  Most state that their desire to have sex with their partner skyrockets.

Have you ever contemplated how much your quality of life would improve if you were more sexually active with your partner?  For most this would be huge!

I encourage patients who are in relationships where their sex lives are suffering to contemplate using cannabis medicinally to enhance it.
