Every other drug company is allowed to directly advertise to patients about the benefits of using their drug.  VIAGRA, CIALIS, LIPITOR… the lists go on and on .   Patients will come into the office and say “I don’t don’t what lipitor does or what its for I just know I need to be on it.”     Do I think they that they can manipulate patients into taking medications? YES.   However if a patient comes in and asks his/her doctor about using Lipitor because of the ad and it turns out to be a good choice for that patient than it did the patient good.

So if Merck, Glaxo-Smith Kline etc can advertise directly to patients I think cannabis collective should be able to as well.  There are plenty of people suffering right now could definitely benefit from using cannabis but might not realize that it is an option for them.  For example, the guy who is taking xanax or trazodone every night to fall asleep and is dealing with the side effects might do much better with one or two doses of cannabis… and not have any of the side effects.  How about the 65 year old women with terrible rheumatoid arthritis who just deals with her pain every day.   What if she sees this ad and talks to her doctor about it.
