Why Choose A Reputable Medical Marijuana Doctor; Patient Experience
September 4, 2010One CommentMedical Marijuana Law medical marijuana card, medical marijuana evaluation
Today in my Irvine office I just took care of a 54 year old women suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia and Hepatitis C. She had been evaluated back in February and received a recommendation from a doctor in Los Angeles. Unfortunately she went to her collective to get medications and she could not be verified to receive medication. The doctors office entered in her data incorrectly… and unfortunately SHUT DOWN AND COULD NOT BE REACHED!. This is very typical in this industry right now… READ ON
Many doctors are jumping into the medical marijuana industry with grandiose ideas of how lucrative it is going to be. They are shutting down their medi-spas, closing their botox clinics in hopes of fast returns. The majority are coming in with the approach of “LETS UNDERCUT THE MARKET AND WORK OFF VOLUME”
What they end up doing is charging $40 for a recommendation in hopes of seeing 75-100 patients per day. AFTER BEING IN BUSINESS FOR A MONTH THEY REALIZE THEY CAN NOT SURVIVE…. SO THEY SHUT THEIR DOORS.
ANY PATIENTS WHO THEY HAVE TAKEN CARE OF ARE THEN SCREWED OUT OF THEIR MONEY BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT BE VERIFIED BY THE DISPENSARY.
There have been 3 major clinics in Orange County that just closed their doors because they could not survive on their business model. This is happening left and right. I KNOW IT IS TEMPTING TO GET A $40 RECOMMENDATION but in the end it will not pay off for you.
Another thing to consider is what happens if something goes wrong. YOU NEED YOUR DOCTOR TO SHOW UP AND FIGHT ON YOUR BEHLAF. I have testified for patients and they are grateful that I took the time and care. THIS IS NOT THE NORM.
Unfortunately this business is not unlike many others in that “you get what you pay for.”
I hope this helps you decide where to go for your doctors evaluation.
Be Blessed,
Dr. Breen
